label printing.
Label printers
can produce self adhesive labels that have very
high durability. These types of self adhesive
labels can be produced for use on high volume
chemical drums and for use on any other articles
that may be likely to be exposed to water or harsh
weather conditions. Label
printers can print onto a material called
polypropylene this is suitable for marine / pallet
/ chemical drum labelling, particularly that must
meet the 90 day sea immersion tests for labelling
hazardous materials of BS5609.
Polypropylene is a new high tack material that
has excellent adhesive to a variety of surfaces.
Label printers
can print onto polypropylene using a range of
printing techniques but most importantly can be
finished as A4 sheets that can be overprinted
for short runs on a laser label printer.
Drum labels, chemicals, oils, paints and agricultural
labels are a special breed of chemical
labels and covers a wide range of different
requirements, all of which can be met by a label
printer.
Generally label printing can meet the necessary
requirements needed for high durability labels,
however it is typically advised that labels are
tested before hand to check for water resistance
and outdoor durability as to meet specification.
Not only are these types of self adhesive labels
made from specifically constructed materials,
they often are printed with thermal transfer label
printers.
