Self adhesive labels can be used for many different
purposes and for a large variety of companies.
There are many types of self adhesive labels,
such as anniversary labels, pat testing labels,
holographic labels, digital labels, wine labels,
thermal labels, asset labels, food labels and
many more.
Anniversary self adhesive labels can be produced
by label printers for companies, both large and
small, to mark the anniversary of the company,
or to mark any other specific celebration that
is distinctive. These self adhesive labels can
be used on company stationary too.
PAT testing self adhesive labels, which stands
for Portable Appliance Tested, are used by electricians
to put onto appliances once they have been tested
and approved. These self adhesive labels illustrate
the date that the test was done, the date it is
due to be re-tested and the name of the person
that the appliances have been tested by.
Holographic self adhesive labels can be used
by any company, they can be a label that is printed
onto a specific holographic material by label
printers or they can be labels that a hologram
is printed onto a base material, these types of
self adhesive labels are often the sorts used
for security.
Label printers
can produce self adhesive labels that are printed
by the use of heat. These types of labels are
called thermal transfer labels. There are two
types of thermal transfer printing processes,
one is thermal wax transfer label printing, and
the other is direct thermal transfer label printing.
Thermal wax transfer produces the design impression
by the application of pressure from the label
printer to melt a wax-based ink. Once the wax
is melted it is transferred onto a ribbon in the
label printer, which is subsequently transferred
onto the printing material. Direct thermal transfer
is when the label printer perforates small marks
onto the printing material, by use of heat, and
creates the design impression that way.
Asset labels can be produced by label printers
for use by companies that need to identify certain
products by a specific number. These self adhesive
labels are consecutively numbered so that it is
easy to identify produce when needed.
Self Adhesive labels for food are used on various
types of food produce to brand the item and to
display information. This is important for the
identification and marketing of the product. Label
printers can print onto materials that are
suitable for different food storage areas, such
as freezers; these types of self adhesive labels
can be printed onto a freeze proof paper
