Hi Adrian,

I was searching Google for anything to with Open Source Waste Disposal Software and this article came up!

Can I pick your brains and ask do you know of any [Open Source] software to help with the management of Waste and the documentation for what happens to it?

It's the first time I have been asked about it in several years.

Cheers

WS is a major label making company. We do off-set and PS labels. We now recycle our off-set waste but we are very interested in being able to recycle our PS matrix and waste. I am excited to see any type of recycling program that my company could participate in. I will definitely keep an eye on this posting. Thank you.

Thanks for the comment Peter. When I get the report in the next few weeks I'll post a summary for discussion.

I agree, it is becoming an increasingly important issue under the surface, and sometime soon it is going to become a lot higher profile.

Can you comment on what the common practice is in the USA to dealing with matrix waste disposal? Do you landfill it by default as well?

Adrian,

Thanks for the mention of my blog post. Dealing with label waste is one of the major challenges for our industry right now. Customers will soon start demanding that we deal with this waste in a more ecological way. I know Calvin Frost and others at TLMI in the US are also working on this issue, but I will be very interested to hear the ideas from the report you have commissioned.

Regards, Peter Renton
